Check if your QR code will expire

Drop a photo or screenshot of a QR code. We decode it in your browser and tell you whether it points to a redirect service that can stop working when a trial or subscription ends.

Drop an image here, paste it (Ctrl/⌘+V) or

Screenshots or photos in PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF. iPhone HEIC photos open only in Safari: elsewhere, take a screenshot or export as JPG. The image never leaves your device.

Private by design: decoding runs entirely in your browser. We do not open the link and no request is sent anywhere.

How the QR “expiry trap” works

Dynamic QR codes are sold as a convenience: you can change the destination after printing and count scans. But the printed code only holds the vendor’s short link. The real destination lives in the vendor’s database.

When a 7- or 14-day trial ends, a card payment fails, or a free plan changes, the vendor can stop forwarding — or show an upsell page to your customers. The squares on your 500 menus are still valid; they just lead somewhere you did not choose.

Frequently asked questions

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes never expire. Dynamic QR codes can: they contain a short link that only works while the vendor keeps it active, often only during a trial or paid plan.

How can I tell if my QR code is dynamic?

Upload a photo or screenshot here. If the decoded address is a short link of a QR service (for example qrco.de, l.ead.me, me-qr.com, qrfy.io) or a link shortener (bit.ly), it is dynamic.

My dynamic code already stopped working. What can I do?

Either reactivate the subscription with the vendor that created it, or create a static code with the final address and replace the old one on your materials.

Is the image uploaded?

No. The image is decoded locally in your browser and never sent to a server.
